Introducing...Me

Hi there,


I'm P. I am a tired 49-year-old-post-menopausal-single-mother-of-2-young-adult-children with two saggy boobs. For now. 


Also, I apparently have breast cancer. Again.


Unfortunately I don't have quite the same enthusiasm to be the breast cancer pin up girl that I did 15 years ago. 

15 years ago I was not quite 34, in training for a half marathon, fit and so full of energy. I looked at my breast cancer diagnosis as just another challenge that I would tackle and beat with my usual  full throttle approach to everything in life.

But I don't really have the same amount of energy as I did back then. So instead of pounding the pavement, I've decided to pound the keyboard instead.

A lot of people have a lot of questions about what's going on with me and my breasts. I know everyone is worried and all the questions are just a way of being supportive, but after a while it can be a little tiring answering questions about my boobies. 


So I'm attempt to do what everyone else on the planet does these days - broadcast the everyday happenings of my life on the internet.


Everyone knows I have a slightly left of centre sense of humour, especially when it comes to the more serious things in life, so consider this your warning. Political correcties go elsewhere if you would like a more sanitised version of these events. 


Also for the squeamish and faint hearted, I'm afraid cancer doesn't really have a lot of sympathy. 


Make no mistake. This is will be, at times, very self indulgent. But I have Cancer so I can do whatever I want.


I do irreverent, I do funny and I can also do the odd introspection, but I am not that big on being inspirational. 


Take from this blog what you will, but what I can promise is a no-holds barred account of what it's really like having breast cancer. Again.
